I had a lot of fun chatting with Giles, Michelle, and Emily from Beyond the Trope. Check out the live interview!
I know it's just a list created by Amazon and updated hourly based on some strange algorithm no one understands BUT STILL it was pretty cool to see my name listed with the mega stars of Young Adult fiction (including Shakespeare, who I never really thought of as a YA author, even though everyone reads him in high school). Many of the authors on the list have movies or television series after their books, so even though I was only at #99 for oh, maybe six hours, I'm pretty honored. Thanks you guys for helping me get there. Maybe I'll get back on the list again one day!
4. Suzanne Collins (Hunger Games)
8. JK Rowling
9. Kiera Cass
10. Veronica Roth (Divergent)
19. John Green (Fault in Our Stars)
23. Lois Lowry (The Giver)
40. Markus Zusak (The Book Thief)
48. William Shakespeare
56. Stephanie Meyer
78. Gayle Forman (If I Stay)
99. ALI DEAN!!!!
See the list HERE
*Post Update: I'm now at #47, passing Advanced Placement books and Stephanie Meyer*
I am so excited to be a part of this effort to raise awareness and funds for families in need of autism resources and therapies! Authors Kennedy Ryan and Ginger Scott are spearheading an awesome auction featuring tons of authors giving away stuff, including signed copies of books. The auction is April 24-25 and you can learn more about it HERE
Get Lucky is a YA anthology featuring six contemporary romance short stories from some of today's hottest
(and my favorite) Young Adult authors!
Short meaning each story is around 20,000 words or
80-85 pages, so you'll get your money's worth.
(Especially since it's only $0.99 for a limited time.)
Coming on St. Patrick's Day, March 17.... I'll be releasing an anthology with five other YA romance authors called GET LUCKY! I am so excited to be a part of this! Each story will be about one third the length of a regular book, so in terms of pages, that's tough math, but it'll be like the length of 2 books, only with six stories and six different authors. We've been working on it top secret and now we're finally sharing the cover and blurbs for the stories. Here ya go!
Doubles Love by Ali Dean - Mackenzie Bell loves two things: tennis and the Kendrick family. She doesn’t want to be anything like her mother, who hops from one husband to the next. It’s one of many reasons why she’s never dated. The other reason? She’s in love with her best friend’s older brother, Jesse Kendrick.
She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not by Kristen Kehoe - Kennedy Russo has had it rough. She's become a pro at being invisible. But when she's paired up for a 5 week assignment with golden boy, Gage, she starts to realize that anonymity may not always be the best option. Gage is on a mission to make her his friend, but will their tentative friendship bloom into something more?
Stroke of Luck by Cassie Mae - Jensen is well on his way to the PGA, if only he could focus. Getting stuck with his best friend as co-counselor at the golf camp will help—Penny’s always been one to push him. But when their alone time turns romantic, Jensen wonders if she’ll just be another distraction.
Someone I Used to Know by Tessa Marie - Charlotte was not looking forward to Spring Break. No technology and a boy she can’t stand. But when she realizes the boy is actually a hot guy now, and wants to hang out with her (!) she cant help but think this break may turn into something pretty awesome. But, is he harboring a secret that will challenge their budding relationship?
16 Kisses by Kelly Oram- All Cassie Caldwell wants for her sixteenth birthday is to finally be kissed. When Cassie’s older brother and his best friend—the lovable, sexy cowboy, Jared—discover her secret, Jared takes it upon himself to make sure her birthday wish comes true.
Four Letter Words by Ginger Scott - Dakota Wright has been making Jace Padgett look good for years…and she’s tired of it. What started as a favor has turned into a habit—one that she’s justified in her mind because Jace also happens to be six feet of gorgeous hunky quarterback, green eyes and a smile that can swing a girl to the moon. But the last favor she did for him may have finally tipped the scales, and Dakota’s ready to call it quits. One small hiccup—her heart can’t seem to let her. And when Jace starts to share pieces of the real him, Dakota begins to think her heart might just be smarter than her head after all.
Hey Pepper Jones fans! Are you ready for a new awesome female character? On January 14, 2016, meet Roxie Slade, alpine ski racer, as she ventures into the world of Stark Springs Academy. It's not available for preorder on Amazon, but you can add it to your to-reads on Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/27354942-black-diamond?from_search=true&search_version=service
It’s not a place for the weak. No one here tolerates wimps. If you can’t handle it, leave. Welcome to Stark Springs, Colorado, home to the most talented young athletes in the world. When Roxie Slade snaps into a pair of skis, there’s no one on Sugarville Mountain in Vermont who can keep up with her. Not even the boys. Still, Roxie was shocked when she received a scholarship to Stark Springs Academy, a boarding school that churns out Olympians in each graduating class. Entering as a high school junior, Roxie can’t wait to learn from renowned coaches and train with the fastest ski racers from all over the globe. But, upon arrival, Roxie discovers that Stark Springs lives under its own set of rules, and it appears one boy plays dictator. Ryker Black is not friendly and Roxie cannot fathom why everyone wants to be his friend. Sure, he’s gorgeous and rides a snowboard like it’s his fifth limb, but he’s cold, ruthless, and holds way too much power over the Stark Springs population. Roxie won’t put up with it. She’s here to train, and she doesn’t care about impressing anyone off the slopes. The only problem? Ryker Black doesn’t permit defiance. Not without consequences.
I previously announced that I'd be taking a break to from the Pepper Jones series to write about new characters, and that the next Pepper Jones books would be released in early 2016. Many of you were not too pleased with that announcement, which I totally understand. I quickly realized that making everyone wait for the next Pepper Jones book was not very nice and I could handle not taking a break after all (believe me, writing number four was an emotional experience from my end too!). Loyalty to my dedicated fans takes precedence, right? Sooooo.... I've been working on what will be the FINAL Pepper Jones book, and I'm pretty sure I can get it out to the world by October 1. I'm sorry for any confusion with the previous announcement that there would be two more books. It's all going to happen in one, and all I can tell you is... you should read it. XOXO
I'm very excited that Pepped Up is now available on audible. I listened to over thirty auditions before choosing Stacey Glemboski, who did a great job! I've always loved audiobooks and it was so much fun listening to the story I wrote. I almost forgot I wrote it for a minute, and started wondering what was going to happen next. Pretty weird. Here's the link if you want to get it on audible! http://www.audible.com/search/ref=a_hp_tseft?advsearchKeywords=pepped+up&filterby=field-keywords&x=0&y=0
